Meaning Behind the Ferris Wheel

Part of the definition of the Ferris wheel is “…is a non building structure consisting of a rotating upright wheel with multiple passenger-carrying components, attached to the rim in such a way that as the wheel turns, they are kept upright, usually by gravity.

We choose the Ferris wheel because often times  in life you are rotating around seeing different sites, going through different stages of life while packing different obstacles in each “car”.

Reaching the very top of the wheel can seem scary and exciting, you feel like you can see the whole world from each side of you. The anticipation of reaching the ground is both welcoming and often times fearful. You could stay up there forever if only you weren’t afraid of crashing down to the bottom only to have to start all over again. Life can often feel like this, once you reach that peak high you’ve been aiming for, only to come right back down to the bottom. Afraid that you won’t be able to reach the top again.

While going on the Ferris wheel is often times seen as romantic, often times if you are a solo rider, you get paired with another random person. This too can often feel weird, you’re glad you’re not going at it alone but at the same time you have absolutely no idea who this person is next to you. Who are they? What do they do? Why are they riding this ride with a complete stranger? But they have helped you out to not feel alone in a ride that only last a few minutes.

This is what we hope to provide. A mentor, a companion who you can email and speak with about whatever hurdle you have that needs to be jumped. You’re almost to the top, you can always see your goal but you don’t know all the steps to take, if you just had that person to help guide you it’d be for lack of better words, “easier”.

Each women/girl is different and that’s what the carts represents, we all have our own baggage (good and bad) that we are carrying with us through life. And sometimes you don’t know which cart you’ll be given, you just have to take a leap of faith that the cart will hold you steady and you’ll be able to master whatever it has inside for you.

There is a beauty and strength in women who help one another and don’t put each other down, and we need to come together as women to help each other and not keep those wish you had’ve known things when you were going through the toughest time in your life a secret.
